RANDALL CLARK

Randall Clark 

40 - year old jaded Firefighter/EMT who suffers from PTSD triggered after responding to a local high school mass shooting. An emotionally broken man, Randall has closed himself off to most human interactions, with the exception of his sister-in-law, niece, and Cubano, his longtime EMT partner. A man of few words, he is generally a cranky and unpleasant person to be around.

NIJAH SIAD

34 - year old paramedic, Nijah Siad is no longer a dreamer.  Having become a cartertake of her teenager sister, Yamina, at an early age, Nijah often resents setting aside her goals to be a parent. Her inability to connect with Yamina, combined with the stresses on the job has driven Nijah to alcoholism. Prone to reckless behavior, she finds solace in her relationship with the married station captain, Bobby Clark.

Captain BOBBY WALKER

Late 40s. The all American man. He is a respected and decorated leader in the station. Every man wants to be his friend. He married way to young and is happily married, but bored. Bobby genuinely cares for Nijah, but will never leave his wife. Their relationship developed when he served as her station supervisor and mentor.

YAMINA SIAD

Popular and pretty, 15 - year old Yamina seems like a typical teenage girl. She wants to hang out with her friends, party, and get through high school. In reality, she struggles with depression from the loss of her boyfriend in the shooting at her school. She desperately wants Nijah to be her friend, but instead gets an emotionally unavailable parent instead. 

Charles Hernandez 'CUBANO'

Late 50s. A class clown. Graduated from EMT training with Randall and has been a long time friend ever since. Affectionately known as 'Cubano' because of his love for sharing his Cuban roots at the station. Knows the old Randall and is the only person who can get Randall to lower his walls. Enjoys a good cortado.
